This little child could have been Me
This little child faced a death no one should endure
This little child could have been me
This little child a precious and innocent soul
Forced out of his God Given Home
This little child could have been me
This little Child separated from his family
This little Child could have been me
This Little Child so pure and innocent
Swept away in the oceans storms of War and displacement
This little Child could have been Me
This little Child had no life saving buoy
No Government, Policy, No one To protect him and his family
This little child could have been me
What does it take for us to realize that these atrocities are NOT Ok
Syria, Gaza, Yemen, Africa and the list goes on, isil and more are NOT OK
These Children are suffering more and more at the hands of those who should be protecting them
These little children could be have been Me
How is it that we cannot put ourselves in the harsh reality of what these innocent human beings endure, day in day out?
Without food, shelter, their families’, safety and provision
Being suffocated by injustice, fear, terror, abuse, displacement, hatred, genocide and unconscionable violence
These little children could have been me
Why is it that those who have the power and authority to ensure the protection and safety of those who suffer
Don’t?
Who is it that makes these laws that lock out the victims of terror and occupation, treating them worse than criminals?
Putting them in impoverished camps fenced in by barbwired fences to fend on their own.
If we can only look within our hearts and realize that these human beings could have been me and by the grace of God we are safe in our communities
This precious little soul has sent a powerful message to us all
If this can happen to this precious innocent child
Then this can happen to me
The more it is ignored the more the injustice grows until we can realize this is NOT OK and end it now
No one has the right to inflict suffering and terror upon anyone, no authority, Government, Policy, Religion or Law
God Gave Everyone The Right To Be
We are here to nurture life, to instill love and kindness in the hearts of all who live
Yet we are complacent in our secure (fake) material existence as war has not shown it’s ugly face in our lives
While others are risking all life and limb for their freedom and right to be
Even though this precious Angel was not me
This Little child could have been me
I cannot fathom the senseless ignorance of those who close their doors to those who through no fault of their own need a helping hand
They need their silenced voices to be heard
They need their rights and freedoms to be respected and honoured
They need their Right to LIVE
They need everything we need and yet are deprived of their basic needs for living
With no hope, no way out of the hell they endure they reach out to us
To be the life buoy, to be the vessels to bring them to shore
The be homes of their safety any and security
To be their comfort and healing so they can dream again and believe in the good of humanity
To advocate and make our Governments see they are more, they are human beings with every right to be
To send those with power and authority to protect and ensure their safety, freedom and rights
To make the United Nations accountable to that which they ignore at the price of $$$ and support
The time is now, to save humanity
Innocent lives are being annihilated every second, so every second counts
This world was made for everyone and that is how it should be and will be
We need to stand up and stand with those who are suffering still
There is no time like the present to open our hearts to humanity
This precious little boy is our brother, and we were not there to save him
Now we must go out and be the safety net and be the bridges, be the light for those who cannot find their way through this injustices of this world
Ignite the Peace Brigade to unite the world in Love,Kindness,Compassion and Unity once more
Show those who are vying for their lives, that we truly care and are there to make a difference
